Project Overview
University of Oxford is one of the oldest universities in the English-speaking world and a leading centre for research and education. The university is renowned for its academic excellence, historic colleges and advanced research. With thousands of students and staff using the facilities every day, providing secure and durable storage solutions is essential to support the busy academic environment.
For this project, we worked alongside Cube Install to deliver Z-shaped lockers for Global Health. The specification of the Laminate Z lockers was 1775mm high, 300mm wide and 450mm deep. For this installation, the architects specified a perforated base and shelf as well as perforated cladding for the locker stands, creating a clean look and allowing for ventilation within the Z Locker.
The lockers were manufactured with an aluminium carcass and stainless steel frame, which was powder coated in Pure White from Helmsman metal colour chart. The locker doors, end panels and cladding were manufactured from Fundermax ‘Charcoal’ compact laminate, providing a contemporary and robust finish. Each locker door features precision perforated holes, adding ventilation while enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the laminate Z lockers installation.
Each Z locker door was completed with accessories including a vinyl numbering in font ‘Roboto’, and for the lock options, the architects have specified an Assa Abloy ML55PA. The locks are a digital pin keypad lock, which offers a timed opening function, a battery status LED and a lock status LED. These locks are battery-operated, providing a long service life and minimal maintenance.
