Project Overview

Tormead School is an independent school that offers a high-quality education for girls from pre-school to sixth form. A Tormead education is one of academic excellence, outstanding care and a wealth of extra-curricular opportunities and enrichment for the girls. Throughout this project, we worked alongside Cost Cutters UK, where we provided lockers for the school.

For this project, our team supplied and delivered 50 laminate lockers all manufactured with 4 doors to accommodate 200 students. Laminate lockers withstand scratches and dents. The laminate doors create an easy-to-clean and hygienic, yet stylish option, making laminate lockers ideal for schools. The specification of the laminate lockers was 1775mm high, 300mm wide and 450mm deep. The lockers were manufactured with a sloping top, which ensures no items can be stored on top of the lockers as well as helps to maintain a clean and organised environment.

The laminate lockers were manufactured with a mild steel body, which was powder coated in ‘Ice’ from the Helmsman standard colour chart. The doors were manufactured from solid-grade laminate in ‘Folkstone’, a light grey finish, creating a clean and contemporary finish. Each locker was fixed on cladded stands, ensuring that the lockers are level on the floor.

Each locker compartment was fitted with a recessed circular number plate positioned above the diamond latch lock, providing clear and easy identification for students.  The diamond latch lock allows users to secure their compartment with their own padlock, giving them a simple locking solution. This also reduces the school’s dependence on keyed locks, minimising key management issues and the need to replace lost keys.
