Project Overview

Queens House is a contemporary office space hidden behind a grand façade, situated in Glasgow’s City Centre, close to the best bars, restaurants and shops. The Queens House offices offer a modern workspace with a traditional touch. The building was constructed for the Scottish Provident Society in the 1900s and encompasses the best of Glasgow’s glorious commercial heritage.

For this project, our team had the pleasure of supplying and installing a mixture of Drying Z lockers and standard Z lockers. Manufactured to a wet specification, the lockers were designed and manufactured to be installed together in a continuous run, creating a practical and cohesive storage solution that complements the building’s interior.

Heated lockers are a great addition to commercial offices to support a more organised environment and demonstrate a commitment to employee wellbeing. For commuters and active travellers to offices, they add an extra layer of comfort to the working day, where the heated lockers can do all the work to dry their garments till the end of the working day.

The specification of the Z lockers was 1775mm high, bespoke width of 446mm and 450mm deep, allowing users to store bags, shoes and hang their garments. All the lockers were supplied with seat stands, allowing the lockers to be lifted from the ground and providing users an area to sit down while changing their shoes.

Laminate Z lockers were manufactured with an aluminium carcass and stainless-steel frame, which was powder-coated in Black from the Helmsman metal colour chart, while the laminate doors were in non-standard colour Beige Natural.

Drying Z lockers and standard Z lockers were complemented by seat stands featuring Beige Natural cladding to conceal the gap between the lockers and the floor. The seat stand slats were finished in stunning Mountain Oak, selected from our standard laminate colour chart.

Each locker compartment was completed with an oval number plate above a Lowe & Fletcher Nimbus digital lock. These are a great choice, perfect for daily use, with an override key. The locks also look great as a contrasting matt black colour against the light Z Lockers doors.
