The Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) Test Centre is a brand new, modern two-storey administrative facility for vehicle testing in Northern Ireland, delivered by the construction company Henry Brothers. The new test centre includes a vehicle testing hall, covering two fit-based inspection lanes for heavy vehicles, ramp-based lanes for light vehicles, and a dedicated motorcycle testing bay.

For this project, we had the pleasure of working alongside Henry Brother to provide and install 48 full-length laminate lockers and wall-to-floor bench seating with wall-mounted hook rail. Laminate lockers are a perfect storage solution, with a wide range of colours available. They provide you with years of service with increased durability, as the material is less likely to scratch.

The specifications of the lockers were 1800mm high, 300mm wide and 450mm deep, including the sloping top, which was cladded with solid grade laminate. They were slightly bespoke as the laminate lockers were constructed with sprung hinges. These sprung hinges ensure that the locker doors self-close smoothly and securely.

The laminate lockers were manufactured with a mild steel carcass and frame, which was powder-coated in standard ‘Ice’ from Helmsman metal colour chart. The solid grade laminate doors, sloping top cladding and end panels were in ‘Gris Perle’ from the laminate range, creating a sleek and contemporary changing room aesthetic with a clean light-grey hue. Lockers were completed with oval number plates at the top centre of the door, alongside one of Lowe & Fletcher’s popular digital nimbus locks. A secure lock ensures that each user’s personal items are safe in the locker.

Along with the laminate lockers, our team at Helmsman manufactured and installed wall-to-floor bench seating with a wall-mounted rail with black hooks. Three benches were all 2700mm long by 280mm deep, with ‘Gris Perle’ slats to coordinate the colours within the changing room.
