One of Helmsman’s recent projects was for a client we have enjoyed working with in the past. British Sugar is a leading producer of sugar for the United Kingdom food and beverage market. We originally started working with British Sugar in the summer of 2025, with our first project at their Bury St Edmunds factory. This latest project marked our second collaboration and was completed at their facility in Norwich, Norfolk.

For this project, our team had the pleasure of supplying and installing a range of staff lockers, including wellled divided lockers, Garment collectors, and four-compartment laminate lockers. Welled divided lockers are installed with modular lockers in front with laminate seat slats on top to create a bench. Divided lockers are a great option for the industrial sector, allowing staff to separate personal clothes and workwear.

Clients requested colours of the lockers from the Helmsman standard metal colour chart. The carcass of the lockers was powder-coated in shade ‘Ice’, and the doors in ‘Forest Green’, creating a clean and contemporary finish. Welled divided lockers were completed with laminate cladding in ‘Grey Cloud’, chosen from the laminate colour chart to complement the overall scheme.

The four-compartment laminate lockers were manufactured with a mild steel carcass, powder coated in ‘Black’, and the laminate doors, end panels and infills were finished in ‘Ice White’ selected from the laminate colour chart, providing a durable structure with a modern appearance.

Solid-grade laminate provides exceptional durability, offering long-term performance while withstanding daily wear and tear in a high-use environment.

All the lockers were also fitted with camlocks with two keys. For the welled divided lockers requested by the client, the locks to match, allowing users to securely store footwear within the modular lockers while making full use of the divided locker as well.
