Laminate Lockers at Edinburgh Airport
Project Details
Client: Edinburgh Airport
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
Project Type: Laminate Lockers
Project Value (approx.): £40k
Year completed: 2023
Edinburgh Airport is one of the busiest airports in Scotland, where they welcomed more than 14.7 million people through their doors in 2019 to travel. In the UK they’re also the 6th busiest airport.
Here at Helmsman, our team manufactured and installed 80 four-compartment laminate lockers for their employees. The specification of the laminate lockers was 1800mm high, 396mm wide, and 450mm deep and completed with a sloping top which is a way to prevent dust from being collected on top of the lockers as well as prevent items being placed on top of the lockers.
As the laminate lockers were a dry spec, the body was made of mild steel whilst the doors were a solid-grade laminate. The clients decided to go with solid grade laminate door mixture of ‘Artic white, Fuma, Sage and Atoll.’ This is a great choice as BioCarbon laminate is carbon neutral, which is a way to maintain sustainability for the environment whilst continuing the aesthetic look.
The Laminate lockers were finished with Lowe and Fletcher 2800 combination locks. This is an excellent choice of lock type as it can reassure the users that their personal belongings are secure whilst at work. With Lowe and Fletchers 2800 manual combination lock, it can be set as a pin code that can be changed at any time or set as a private mode which could be set as one code only.
Our laminate lockers are a popular option for a variety of sectors, as laminate doors provide increased stability, with material that is less likely to scratch, dent, or damage which can maintain the stylish look.
