Blofield primary school has moved to a new school building, where they have increased the number of pupils, from 210 students to 420 students. The new primary school is a 2-storey building, with 14 classrooms. The KS1 (Key Stage 1) classrooms are located on the ground floor, with outside access. Whereas KS2 (Key Stage 2) classrooms are located on the first floor.

During this project at Blofield Primary School, we worked closely with Pentaco Constructions, where the Helmsman team manufactured, delivered and installed 120 Helmsman KS1 and KS2 lockers, a range of three compartments and four compartments and 6 laminate lockers for staff. Laminate lockers are fantastic options for schools, giving you years of service with durability and the ability to withstand wear and tear.

The specifications of the 60 three compartment KS1 laminate lockers were 1250mm high, 300mm wide and 450mm deep, whereas 60 four compartment KS2 lockers had a bespoke specification of 1600mm high, 300mm wide and 450mm deep. School lockers allow students from a young age to build understanding in organization and provide an area where students can store books, electronic devices, and other belongings, which helps the students to reduce the weight of their carrier bag.

The gorgeous laminate lockers were manufactured with mild steel powder coated in Helmsman standard colour chart  ‘Ice’, whereas for the laminate doors, there was a mixture of colours ‘Grigio, Graphite, Blue Zaffiro, Mountain Grey and Azzurro Tempesta’, from Abet Laminati custom colour range.

Each compartment was fitted with a circle laminated number plate above the diamond swivel lock for the user’s own padlock. Diamond swivel locks are a great lock option as they are easy to use and have a pleasing aesthetic.
