Westfield Energy Recovery is a site that takes the portion of the household waste that is left once the recyclable materials are removed and instead of putting it in waste, Westfield Energy Recovery uses the recyclable materials to create electrical power and heat.

Our team at Helmsman supplied and installed 82 full-length Staff Metal Lockers, with some seat stands. The specifications of these metal lockers were 1775mm high, 300mm wide and 450mm deep. Metal lockers are an excellent option for lockers for staff in the industrial sector, allowing employees to store personal garments and personal belongings during working hours. Additionally, the material of the metal lockers is reliable, easy to maintain and a great storage solution as they are manufactured to last long term.

The carcasses of the lockers were powder coated in ‘Ice’ whereas half of the doors were powder coated in ‘Skye’ and the other half were powder coated in ‘Smoke’, all the colours were from the Helmsman colour chart. With the use of the bright colour of ‘Skye’ creates a focused and positive environment for the employees, with the two colours creating a great blend.

Clients requested for the vedette lockers to be installed with seat stands, which allow employees to sit down when they have to change their shoes rather than balance without support. The lockers were completed with camlocks. Camlocks are a great locking system, as they are highly reliable for the users, ensuring the employees that their personal belongings are safe and secure during working hours.

The locker rooms are an ideal space for employees and employers. We are pleased with the overall result. It was great working alongside KDM Shopfitting Ltd.

Alexander Dennis is a British bus manufacturing company that is based in Larbert, Scotland. They are a leading transition to zero-emission mobility for buses.

Our team at Helmsman had the pleasure of manufacturing and installing a variety of staff lockers and bench seating. Helmsman team manufactured 60 one-compartment metal lockers with sloping tops and 4 of fifteen-compartment garment dispensers. All the staff lockers are manufactured with a sloping top, which is a great addition as it reduces the pose of hazards if items are stored and prevents the growth of dust and dirt on top of the lockers.

The specification of the metal locker was 1800mm high, 380mm wide and 450mm deep, however, the sloping top adds 150mm to the height. The staff lockers were all powder coated from Helmsman standard colour charts. The carcass of the metal lockers and the garment dispenser was powder-coated in ‘Ice’, whereas the doors were powder-coated in ‘Skye’ which creates an uplifting mood for the staff with the brightness of the colour.

The lockers were completed with a vedette laminated number plate as well as a Helmsman locking system of cam locks, which is a great secure lock, assuring the employees that their personal belongings are safe whilst being at work.

Additionally, with this order, clients also requested bench seats in a wet spec, which is suitable for an environment that has high humidity. The specification of the bench seats was 450mm high, 3250mm long and 350mm wide. Bench seating is an excellent addition as it allows employees to sit down when they need to change their shoes rather than having to balance, which can cause a hazard.

Laminate Lockers at Amazon

Amazon is one of the biggest online-based businesses that largely focuses on providing customers with online retail and digital streaming. Amazon’s main focus is on serving customers online which focuses on selection, price, and convenience of the products that are provided on Amazon.

Our team at Helmsman manufactured and installed 35 three-compartment Laminate Lockers and 55 Solid-grade Laminate cladding for this project. The specifications of laminate lockers were 1800mm high, 300mm wide, and 450mm deep.

The body of the lockers was powder coated in our shade of ‘Ice’, whereas the choice of the laminate, our client decided on colour ‘Graphite’. Along with the Heavy Duty Lockers, solid-grade laminate cladding was also requested which was in colour of ‘Graphite’ to match the lockers. Solid-grade laminate top cladding is a great choice as it encloses the lockers and reduces the storage on top of the lockers.

The Laminate Lockers at Amazon was finished with vinyl numbering as well as Ojmar combination lock 8001 in ‘Black’. Ojmar combination lock is an excellent choice of lock type, as it provides options of setting the locks as a free-use mode or dedicated mode, which means that it can be used by different users each time or permanently by one. Additionally, it assures the users that their personal belongings are safe and secure in the locks.

Laminate Lockers are a fantastic choice for many sectors. The material of laminate lockers is highly durable, which means that there would be less damage, dents, or scratches, as well as aesthetics with the variety of colours we have at Helmsman offer to the clients.

Alexander Dennis Ltd is a British bus manufacturing company that is based in Larbert, Scotland. They are a leading transition to zero-emission mobility for buses.

Our team at Helmsman manufactured and installed a variety of staff lockers. Helmsman team manufactured 75 full-length metal lockers, 9 garment collectors, 5 of 15-compartment garment dispensers, and a special 15-compartment garment locker, with the top half there are 5 compartment garment dispensers and the bottom 10 compartments manufactured as garment collectors. All the lockers were finished with sloping tops. Sloping tops are a brilliant extra as they prevent the growth of dust and dirt on top of the lockers.

The specification of the metal lockers was 1800mm high, 380mm wide, and 450mm deep. The colours of the lockers were picked from our standard shades, the body of all the lockers was powder-coated in the shade ‘Ice’ whereas the doors were powder-coated in ‘Skye’ which is a great vibrant shade. All the staff lockers were finished with our Camlocks, which is a great secure lock, as it assures the users that their personal belongings are safe and secure whilst at work.

Additionally, for their order, our customers requested 5 bench seats in a wet spec which is suitable for wet environments with specifications 3250mm long, and 350mm deep. Benches are an excellent addition that allows employees to sit down when they need to change their shoes than standing and balancing.

Garment dispensers are fantastic as this approach makes sure that each employee’s clean laundry of workwear is untouched and available to be collected when at work. Whereas the Garment Collectors are used at the end of the day where employees can place used workwear for them to be cleaned and washed for the next day.

Project Overview

Helmsman’s most recent project was for a company we have enjoyed working with in the past. McCormick are a global leader in flavour, with Schwartz, Franks RedHot and French’s just a selection of their globally well known brands. Back in 2021, we were asked to manufacture and install a variety of lockers in their new Cambridge facilities, from garment collectors, garment dispensers through to office and visitor lockers. This year we had the pleasure of working with McCormick again for their UK HQ in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire. The client requested lockers for their staff members and so Helmsman supplied and installed 164 mild steel, 1 compartment lockers with sloping tops and stands. The colour scheme was kept bright but professional, with a selection of colours including standard “Ice” coloured body with blue, red and yellow doors.

Helmsman’s Essential Metal Lockers are manufactured from mild steel, and powder coated in our factory with our new paint booth. There are a variety of colour options, with those chosen by McCormick being Royale (blue), Cherry (red) and Yellow. The lockers were finished with Lowe and Fletcher Camlocks, a simple, secure and easy to use option, perfect for the staff lockers required by McCormick.

In addition to the lockers, Helmsman also supplied bench seating for McCormick’s Haddenham HQ. We produced 10 double sided benches, with coat hooks and Ash Hardwood seating slats.

The lockers and benches really do look fantastic at McCormick’s Haddenham HQ. It was great to work with McCormick again and we hope to help them with any locker, cubicle or bench seating requirements they have in the future.

McCormick Staff & Visitor Lockers Project

Project Overview

McCormick is a global leader in flavour, operating in 160 countries and territories. McCormick is expanding their UK market with new facilities in Peterborough, which will provide around 400 new jobs for the community. This facility is the first Net Zero carbon facility for McCormick, marking a sustainability milestone for the company. The new facility manufacture flavours and condiments with daily manufacturing targets of 1.8 million per day.

To achieve Net Zero in construction and to prepare for Net Zero in operations, McCormick committed to the UKGBC framework methodology of building less, more clever and efficient. Helmsman has been a part of this successful process.

McCormick specified that they needed staff, office and visitor lockers and Helmsman supplied. We site surveyed the facility before manufacturing of lockers started to make the most use of the space.

We installed five compartment and eight compartment garment dispensers and several garment collectors for the staff changing room on the lower floor. These metal lockers were powder-coated in ‘Smoke’ and ‘Forest Green’ RAL colours to separate the areas. The two and four compartment essential metal lockers made their way to the back end of the changing room in ‘Smoke’ and ‘Royale Blue’ specifically for visitors.

The two and five compartment laminate lockers in Abet ‘Ice White’ decorated the upstairs offices. These lockers needed to match the modern style of the office, with the idea to try and blend the lockers into the white walls. All lockers came with either cam locks or hasp & staple locks for extra security.

We are extremely happy with how the project developed and the staff, office and visitor lockers that we provided. It has been great to work with McCormick, and we hope to work together soon.
